Chris Lee is the founder and CEO of MonkeyButt Media, a multimedia design company based in Upstate South Carolina that specializes in web design, graphic design, photography, videography, and social media services for businesses of all sizes.

With dual degrees in Web Design and Graphic Design from Greenville Technical College (earned with a 4.0 GPA), Chris brings a unique blend of creative and technical expertise to every project. After completing his studies at Greenville Tech, Chris joined Carolina Creative Enterprises as Web Manager, putting his education into immediate practice managing digital properties and web operations.

That role set the stage for his current position as Web Operations Manager for the Wounded Warrior Program, where he oversees web operations in support of the organization's mission to serve injured veterans and their families.

His company, MonkeyButt Media, offers comprehensive design solutions ranging from custom logos and branding to signs, banners, menus, and digital marketing support, serving clients throughout the region with professional-grade multimedia services.

Beyond his design and web management work, Chris is a seasoned radio personality and musician whose career in broadcasting began in 1985 at WYAK FM in Myrtle Beach. He spent years entertaining listeners on Classic Rock 101.1, hosting evening shows and serving as a newscaster on The John Boy & Billy "Big Show." In 2025, he was named Best Radio Personality by The Post and Courier Greenville readers.

As a former member of the band Split Shot, which toured the southeastern United States and achieved two #1 hits on the Cashbox National Beach Music Charts, Chris brings an insider's perspective to his podcast, Backstage With Chris Lee, where he interviews musicians, singers, and songwriters from South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.

His diverse background in radio, music, acting (with appearances on shows like Homeland and The Righteous Gemstones), and multimedia production has positioned him as a well-connected figure in the Southeast entertainment industry. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Entertainment & Music Hall of Fame.

Concert Photography

Chris is also an accomplished concert photographer whose lens has been trained on some of classic rock's most iconic performers. From Alice Cooper and Styx to Foreigner, Chicago, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Don Felder, John Waite, and Kevin Cronin, his portfolio spans unforgettable nights at venues across the Carolinas — including Harrah's Cherokee Casino, Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, PNC Pavilion in Charlotte, and the Peace Center in Greenville.

What sets Chris apart behind the camera is the same thing that drives the rest of his career: a lifelong connection to music. As a former touring musician and veteran radio broadcaster, he doesn't just photograph a performance — he anticipates it. He knows when the guitar solo is about to peak, when the crowd is about to erupt, and when a quiet, unscripted moment between an artist and the audience is worth more than any pyrotechnic display. That instinct produces high-resolution images that go beyond documentation, giving venues and performers compelling visual content that drives audience engagement and tells the real story of live music.
